Kutno is a town in the region of Lodz, on the Ochnia river, a tributary of the Bzura river. It is the capital
of the Kutno county, part of the Lodz province since 1999. It had about 48,000 inhabitants in 2006.
 
Located N 52°14'- E 19°22', near the geographical centre of Poland, it is 52km (33 miles) north of Lodz
and 112 km (70 miles) west of Warsaw. Kutno county includes the nearby cities of Żychlin, Krośniewice,
Bedlno, Krzyżanów, Strzelce, Nowe Ostrowy, Oporów, Łanięta and Dąbrowice.
